Two small and friable spheres suspected to be animal droppings recovered from a Neolithic building were investigated through Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) to better understand their composition. The analysis of the samples supports the suggestion that they are pieces of herbivore dung. Further analyses are recommended to confirm the identification of the objects as droppings, attempt an identification of the species of animal, and understand associated diet (domestic vs wild plants).
